Casas Colgadas

Cuenca (east of Madrid) is famous for the 14th /15th Century "hanging houses" (casas colgadas). The Old part of the city is hemmed in on three sides by a deep gorge carved out by two rivers. Along the cliffs of the gorge a number of houses hang precariously on the edge. One of these houses is the Museum of Spanish Abstract Art. We visited this museum in June 2005. I made a photo of one of the old windows and used this photo to make a quick watercolour
